Android 1.5 now available on Trimble Nomad rugged smartphone |

SDG Systems announced that its Trimble Nomad rugged mobile computing system is now available with a developer build of Google's Android 1.5 "Cupcake" smartphone OS. This will allow developers to test Android apps on the rugged device.
The Trimble Nomad features an 806MHz processor, up to 2 GB of internal storage space, and a high-resolution VGA display. The device comes with a CompactFlash slot and Bluetooth 2.0. GPS and WiFi connectivity are optionally included onboard. Quad-band GSM connectivity is also optional.
SDG Systems has supported Linux-based mobile devices for developers, like the Openmoko Neo Freerunner, since 2001. The Trimble Nomad with Google Android developer package starts at $127 |
